• A History Of Silly

  A coworker asked me recently what I do to cope with some of the ridiculous requests us designers get. I explained that its a matter of understanding that people don’t always know what they’re asking for and why; and anytime you deal with aesthetics, you’re going to find non-designers sharing their biases about look and not thinking about the impact of it. Knowing this not only helps you cope, but it also allows you to effectively sort out what the client really wants.

  But, having said that, I also have another coping mechanism.

  I get silly.

  Probably my favorite one of all time.

  None of these are meant to be works of art, they’re just short distractions that make getting through the day possible. And they crack me up. Even if it’s only me.
